Tender description
The BBC intends to appoint a single supplier for seven (7) years for provision of the connectivity services which interconnect BBC sites and other suppliers and partners. The contract may be extended at the BBC’s discretion by up to three (3) years. The total estimated contract value over the maximum possible contract term of 120 months (which includes possible contract extensions) is £230m. Having engaged in market sounding and research, the BBC released a PIN on February 24 2015 and now seeks responses in respect of this OJEU notice. The BBC intends to appoint a single supplier for the connectivity services which provides all interconnections supporting both the broadcast signal interconnections and enterprise IT networks. The required services comprise a single lot categorised into the following service groups: 1. Connectivity Management, administration and monitoring services 2. Non-Core Connectivity Services 3. Core Connectivity Capacity 4. Heritage Connectivity Capability 5. Systems and Site Interface Management 6. Non-Standard Connectivity The BBC is implementing a ‘Tower Model’ co-ordinated by an internal Service Operations Management (SOM) organisation. In addition to the above services, the successful supplier will be expected to cooperate with the BBC, its commercial and service management functions and the BBC’s other suppliers in this Tower Model and across the organisation. This initiative is being managed as the BBC Aurora Programme, and is expected to reach completion by April 2017.
