Tender description

This project is seeking to better understand the effects of transition zones on the performance of flood defence assets. Transition zones are areas of weakness within an overall system of flood defences where flood defences ‘transition’ to a new form or geometry. It is at the interface between the two differing surfaces, where the processes of erosion (internal and external) are promoted. If these erosion processes are undetected, or left unchecked, they can ultimately lead to flood defence failure and breach. The purpose of this stage is to select suppliers which will be later invited to submit a full tender response. A Prior Information Notice was previously published in the Office Journal of the European Union on 2 August 2017, publication number 2017/S 146-301802 (short version 301802-2017). Additional information on this requirement and the supplier selection process can be found in the attachments. It is anticipated that this contract will be awarded in April 2018.
