TENDER OPPORTUNITY AFBI Supply, Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of 3 Liquid Handlers project_ 3582 AFBI has a requirement for the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of 3 new automated / robotic liquid handling systems, for the processing of serum for the detection of antibodies to Brucella abortus in bovines. The system is necessary as a replacement for equipment that has reached the end of its working life. The new replacement instruments are to carry out barcode scanning on de-corked pre bar-coded clotted blood sample tubes and 96 well microtitre plates; the transfer of neat serum from the sample tubes to a storage plate; the preparation of actual test plates from the storage plate(s) for testing by MSAT. The new replacement instruments are expected to have a lifespan of ten years. This will allow AFBI to contribute to the improvement in disease control strategies and the Northern Ireland Agri-Food Industry. This agreement will remain in place for 12 months and subject to budget availability AFBI may buy further automated / robotic liquid handling systems during this period. Delivery of the 3 new automated / robotic liquid handling systems on or before 31 March 2011 is critical to this competition.
