The Donegal CDB Peace and Reconciliation Partnership was set up in February 2008 to develop and implement the Donegal PEACE III Action Plans under Priority 1.1: Building Positive Relations at Local Level of the PEACE III Programme 2007 - 2013. One of the main aims of the Donegal PEACE III Action Plan (2011 – 2013) is to support conflict resolution and mediation and address the legacy of the conflict. In order to achieve this aim and its objectives, the Donegal PEACE III Action Plan identifies the need to develop and deliver a programme of intervention to support Ex-service personnel in County Donegal to address the legacy of the conflict.
