The school nursing service will provide health services to children and young people of school age, in order that they are given the very best chance to achieve good health as well as contributing to the four key themes for improving outcomes outlined in Barking and Dagenham’s Children and Young People’s Strategy being: • Improve the health and well being of children, young people and families; • Close the gap in outcomes for children, young people and families in vulnerable groups; • Close the gap in outcomes for children, young people and families based on their localities; and • Ensure that young people are well prepared to achieve in adulthood through high quality learning and development.
