Tender description

NHS West Essex (the Commissioner) has a requirement for the provision of primary care Ophthamology services for patients registered with GPs practising in the NHS West Essex geographical area and for delivery of the service in Harlow and Epping. The following core services are required: a. Diagnosis and treatment for ophthalmic conditions including: b. External eye disease such as: blepharitis, dry eyes, chronic conjunctivitis not responding to treatment, episcleiritis c. Eyelid disorders d. Watery eyes e. Floaters, posterior vitreous detachment f. Early cataracts not requiring surgery but requiring assessment g. Preliminary glaucoma suspect assessment h. Assessment of age related dry macular degeneration i. Incidental pathology noted on routine sight tests j. Any eye condition with the GP or Optometrist is not happy and believes that a delay in assessment at outpatients will be detrimental to the condition or to the patient
