Supply of Phase 2g Active Protection System (APS) Demonstration and Qualification Systems

Tender description

The Authority has a requirement for Long-Lead Items to enable trials of the Active Protection System (APS) as part of the Challenger 3 (CR3) Life Extension Programme (LEP). The existing contractor for APS is the only viable provider able to deliver the capability on CR3 LEP within tolerable levels of risk and within the required timescales. To support the integration of APS, a Single Source contract is required. This procurement route has been endorsed on the grounds of the technical maturity of the project (in accordance with section 16.1 of DSPCR 2011 – Use of the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice).
