Tender description

Archaeology Scotland wishes to commission a heritage-focused construction and conservation-based engineer/architect for the Real Wild West: Adopt-a-Monument (AaM) programme in west Ardnamurchan. The awardee will be responsible for assessing the structural integrity of a Category C-Listed building, a historic icehouse at Fascadale in West Ardnamurchan, preparing a report and recommending any work required to make the structure assessable and usable by the public. They will work closely with Archaeology Scotland, the Ardnamurchan History and Heritage Association and the landowner. The awardees will: Agree timetable of work and activity with AS, AHHA and landowners. Assess the structural integrity of the building. Recommend any repairs that are required and discuss with AS, AHHA and the Landowner. Prepare a report as to the structural integrity of the building and recommend any future work. Ensure adequate H&S procedure and protocol is in place.
