Tender description
Peel Ports owns and operates six of the UK’s most important ports (Port of Liverpool, Heysham Port, Manchester Ship Canal, Medway (Sheerness / Chatham), Clydeport (Greenock, Hunterston, Ardrossan) and Great Yarmouth). It also operates a container terminal in Dublin. In the majority of these locations, the company builds, extends and refurbishes warehouses in support of its business strategy. As such, The Mersey Docks and Harbour Company Limited will shortly be launching a regulated procurement competitive tender process for the award of a warehouse design and build contract at the Port of Liverpool. Lot 1: The aim of this periodic indicative notice to give advance notice of the upcoming procurement prior to release of the contract notice which is due before the end of November 2022. Contractors are invited to provide early expressions of interest in relation to this opportunity. It is proposed that the scope shall be for the Contractor to be responsible for the design and construction of a warehouse & office / showroom with the following characteristics. • The warehouse is likely to be of portal frame construction designed to maximise the clear internal height and span, particularly at the eaves/haunch of circa 9m and a span of circa 52m. The footprint of the warehouse is approximately 15,250 m2 (approx. 164,000ft2) • Also proposed is a detached office / showroom, which is to be constructed in Cross-Laminate Timber (CLT). The floorspace of the office / showroom is approximately 472 m2 split across two floors • All external works to include surfacing, fencing, external lighting, provision of all required utility supplies and quayside works • The new structure is to be constructed to current building regulations with the Contractor being responsible for obtaining all necessary approvals, permissions and certificates
