Discharge to Assess Beds

Tender description

<p>Wokingham Borough Council is currently reviewing its plans for Winter 22/23 and is considering setting up block contracts to facilitate the timely discharge from hospital of Wokingham residents who are medically fit. Subject to funding being agreed nationally, the Council is considering awarding 2-3 contracts each with up to 5 beds until the end of March 2023. The requirements would be: • a mixture of Nursing Dementia and Residential Dementia beds. • admissions at short notice and over weekends. • placements would be for a period of up to 6 weeks following discharge from hospital to allow time for a full assessment of needs to determine the long term care and support requirements. If funding is approved the Council will need to act swiftly to commission these beds in a fair and transparent way in line with procurement regulations. Therefore, we would welcome early expressions of interest from providers who have the capacity to offer a block of beds. Providers who express an interest in offering discharge to assess beds will be invited to tender for the opportunity formally.
