One of the greatest barriers to market entry for new renewables is securing confidence over the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) price that energy can be sold for. Broadly, it is understood that PPA models can be split into two distinct markets: • Short term PPAs: typically good purchase rates but no long term certainty (1-2 years) • Long term PPAs: typically long term (10-20 years) certainty, but poor purchaser rates
