Tender description

The School of Computer Science and Informatics is currently expanding their research capabilities in robotics. This expansion is particularly articulated within the Human-Centred Computing (HCC) research group, in which the areas of Human-Robot Interaction/Collaboration (HRI/HRC) are already part of its main lines of research. This procurement specifies the requirements of a collaborative robot (CoBot) Cardiff University are aiming to purchase that will complement other robotic platforms available in the HCC laboratory. The intended CoBot is expected to be a developing and testing platform for fundamental research in new research areas within HCC group such as computational robotics (e.g., robot task and motion planning) and robot learning, as well as to complement the research in HRI/HRC, and their application in different domains.
