Professional Services Property Technical Advisor to the Property Management Unit

The Property Management Unit is responsible for ensuring a high level of suitable and secure accommodation in locations both at home and abroad. The Unit functions as an integrated service comprising both of professional and general service Civil Service Grades. The Unit is led by two Directors at Principal Officer Grade with overall responsibility for property management. The requirement is for short term contractor to provide professional support services in the areas of Architecture or Engineering or Quantity Surveying. The Department requires project management services (construction) from an individual consultant who has experience dealing with amelioration of existing buildings. • The contractor is required to be recognised as “Assigned Certifier” under the Building Control Amendment Regulations 2014. i.e. Registered Architect, Chartered Engineer, Chartered Building Surveyor. • Support a programme of regular and systematic work schedules for premises, both at HQ and Abroad (including condition surveys internationally with travel at Civil Service Rates); • Assess Properties for purchase or lease by the department at home or overseas such that they comply with Irish standards or equivalent at lease to a reasonable and foreseeable degree. • Make recommendations regarding upgrading works • Apply security standards as required. • Organise and manage projects within allocated budgets, ensuring the effective operation of budgetary planning and monitoring systems; • Advise on professional and technical issues to staff charged with service delivery • Ensure compliance with all Irish statutory and regulatory requirements as required; • Such other professional services appropriate as may be determined by the Director of the Property Management Unit.
