Tender description
Dstl are looking for manufacturers of scintillation type gamma radiation detectors utilising sodium iodide and bismuth germanate crystals. Crystal sizes (cylindrical) up to 76mm diameter and 300mm length required. Experience of fabrication to very low background standards and flexibility to modify designs to incorporate casing materials such as carbon fibre composite and utilise low background components (e.g. photpmultiplier tubes) required. Flexibility to work with the customer to address specific size, weight and other design constraints also required.
