Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Technology: Expressions of Interest

<p>Wirral Community Health Care Foundation Trust has introduced a new enterprise content management system as the secondary storage facility for the legacy patient records. Throughout the data migration our findings have highlighted the records, extracted from a previous legacy system, where scanned in batches combining many patient records in one file. In order for a successful migration there is a requirement to convert the image into a machine-readable text format and separate into individual patient records using a number of values (Name_NHS Number_DOB). This will allow for the records to be indexed with a unique identifier specific to each patient record capable of being computationally searched. The purpose of this procurement exercise is to award to a supplier who can work in partnership in a pilot with our Trust. We are interested in hearing from suppliers who we can work in partnership with until full implementation by 31st March 2023</p> <p>The Trust is seeking to</p> <ul> <li>Automate data extraction from a scanned document or image file and converting the text into a machine-readable form to be used for data searching.</li> <li>To have the facility to search for one patient record using a unique identifier.</li> <li>Suppliers can provide a case study reference of their solution working broadly across a similar sized NHS Community Trust. Where possible, the case study/studies should include details of automating Optical Character Recognition.</li> </ul> Keywords: Optical Character Recognition
