Summary of the work Data Engineer with proven track record of ETL work and experience of Open Source and Commercial products Specialist role Data engineer Expected Contract Length up to 9 months Latest start date Thursday 1 September 2022 Maximum Day Rate Expectation of day rate between £475 - 595 Who Speclialist Work With Work with a small technology team who support platform for Analytical community. Users are for example Statisticians , Data Scientists, Economist and Operational Researcher. What Specialists Work On 1. Developing new data pipelines for Analyst users that can be easily maintained. 2. Improving performance and stability any existing data pipelines. 3. Provide advice to users who create their own data pipelines Skills & Experience • Must evidence 5 years + experience of ETL work (3 points) • Must evidence 5 years + experience of SQL Language (3 points) • Must evidence 5 years + experience of MS SQL server (2014+) (3 points) • Must evidence 5 years + experience of Database Design and Analysis (3 points) • Must evidence 2 years + experience of using API's to ingest data (2 points) • Must evidence 2 years + experience of using Python Language (1 points) • Must evidence 1 years + experience of using R Language (1 points) • Must evidence 1 years + experience of using PowerBI (1 points) • Must evidence 2 years + experience of using PostgreSQL (2 points) • Must evidence 5 years + experience of MS Excel (1 points) • Must evidence 1 years + experience of using Data Factory (2 points) • Must evidence 2 years + experience of using MS SSIS (2 points) • Must evidence 2 years + experience of using Powershell Language (2 points) • Must evidence experience of using designing data pipelines , from capture requirements to deployment (3 points) • Must evidence experience of working on Cloud (3 points) • Must evidence experience of working with secure and sensitive data (3 points) Nice to Haves • Must evidence experience of developing a data catalogue (3 points) • Must evidence experience of presenting to users technical information, such as a data pipeline design (3 points) Work Location Team are London based, Users are mostly in London and smaller teams regions. Working Arrangments Hybrid working. Expectation for candidate to attend office at minimum 1 day a week. Is there an incumbent? No. 2. would a candidate be able to start with BPSS clearance, to then be cleared to SC level? We would consider this. With BPSS only there will be restrictions on what datasets can be accessed. We would look to get the candidate SC cleared. 3. Is there any flexibility on the day-rate for engineers who already hold SC clearance? Assessment in not based on day rate alone. 4. Can you confirm if this is able to be done remotely please? As stated in requirements under working arrangements;Hybrid working. Expectation for candidate to attend office at minimum 1 day a week. This means that most of the time the candidate will be working remotely but there will expectation to 1 day a week, more in the initial onboarding.
