Irish Lights ITT for Fire Safety Review & Recommendations

The main objectives of this requirement is to provide Irish Lights with: • An understanding of fire safety regulations as pertaining to Irish Lights infrastructure and various uses. • Guidance on best practice in managing fire safety issues to ensure compliance with regulations (NI & ROI). This review, to be undertaken by suitably qualified fire engineering consultants, will examine current Irish Lights procedures, visit a number of typical Irish Lights properties, and recommend practical procedures/solutions for future operations to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, as appropriate to the infrastructure, its age and its designated status as Protected Structures or Listed Buildings. This review will include the following: • Legislative and statutory requirements (NI & ROI) • Identification of appropriate M&E systems (fire/smoke/CO detection, alarms, suppression) • Fire safety of building elements (stairs, doors, structure etc.) • Procedures (emergency instructions, escape documentation, etc.) • Anything else considered relevant and necessary
