Tender description

2.The major objective of this action is to secure access to the necessary expertise to enable a robust evaluation of options for the future storage within JASMIN. This includes both the definition of the overall storage tiering strategy suitable for the longer term, and the identification and evaluation of plausible candidate technologies for the replacement and upgrade of the storage tiers in the shorter term. The current storage tiers are described in the appendix, together with key questions that will need to be answered in the course of the consultancy. Note that there is no supposition that the existing tiering strategy needs changing or that it should remain unchanged (although any plans for technology change must address data migration). This action is about ensuring that any decisions about the strategy and technology can be made based on sound advice on value for money and fitness for purpose. Additional information: The tender is split into 2 lots - Lot 1 JASMIN Storage Planning, Lot 2 JASMIN Storage Benchmarking. Bidders may submit bids for 1 or both lots. If submitting bids for both Lots, 2 separate bids must be submitted. Contracts for each Lot will be awarded separately, however the University may award both Lots to the same Bidder.
