Tender description
Background In March 2022 the Department for Education (DfE) published the SEND and AP green paper setting out proposals for a system that offers children and young people the opportunity to thrive, with access to the right support, in the right place, and at the right time, so they can fulfil their potential and lead happy, healthy and productive adult lives. We are currently considering responses to the SEND and AP green paper consultation which concluded in July 2022. Purpose The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to notify the market of a forthcoming early market engagement event relating to the special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and alternative provision (AP) system in England. The DfE will be undertaking an online event on the 1st of November to gather market insight. This event will build on the consultation and will be used to assess the potential delivery and commercial considerations in relation to Q9 in the green paper: To what extent do you agree or disagree that we should introduce a new mandatory SENCo NPQ to replace the NASENCo? We are particularly interested in engaging with those organisations currently delivering teacher training / CPD, including for Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCo). Indicative Timeline The event is scheduled to take place at 15:30 on Tuesday the 1st of November and is anticipated to last no longer than 90 minutes. Please note that a maximum of two people from each organisation can attend each event. For details on how to register to attend, please click on the Eventbrite link below. Additional information: This notice is for information only and is not a call for competition. Accordingly, the Authority will not be liable for any bid cost, expenditure, work or effort incurred by an organisation in acting on the basis of this PIN. All future information will be issued via the DfE eTendering Portal. Organisations can access this system at: https://education.app.jaggaer.com for details of how to register and the terms of free registration. All information included in this notice is indicative and subject to change.
