Provision of IP Management Services

Tender description

APHA requires external professional IP services to assist the organisation to manage its existing patent and trademark portfolio and to assist with the protection of new registered IP assets. This requirement will be tendered in 2 Lots. The total cost noted is 1 element of work for each lot, as an indication of cost across the duration of the contract cannot be assessed as services can only be included when required. Lot 1: Provision of Intellectual Property (IP) Management services to APHA Lot 1 – IP Management (patent and trademark protection and advice) The requirement is for a firm of patent agents to provide cost effective, general intellectual property advice and to undertake the preparation, registration and prosecution of applications for patents and other forms of registered intellectual property including but not limited to trademark applications across all of the relevant research areas of the APHA. The patent firm will be expected to possess the necessary breath of intellectual property law experience and technical understanding. It is important that the patent firm is able to develop a strong rapport with both the APHA research staff and commercial staff in APHA Scientific and to take proactive steps to foster good relations including availability to correspond in efficient time via email and telephone and to visit APHA research sites as reasonably requested. Lot 2: Provision of Intellectual Property (IP) Management services to APHA Fee payments (renewals and EP validation fees) The requirement is for an economic, service-led provider in respect of the managed and payment of registered IP rights renewals and EP validation fees. This service would be for the renewal of all of APHA’s existing portfolio of registered IP rights (patents and trademarks) and all new EP validations.
