HS2 Hybrid Venture Innovation Fund Manager - Early Engagement

Tender description

The purpose of this notice is to engage with the market in relation to the HS2 Hybrid Innovation Fund Manager. HS2 Ltd in partnership with the Department for Transport (DfT) is proposing to establish a "Public-Private Venture Capital Fund" (the "Fund") as a vehicle to invest equity stakes in appropriate new businesses primarily within the UK construction and transport sector, working within the HS2 environment. The total anticipated Fund value is between £30 - £50m. The Public investment to the Fund, provided by HS2 Ltd and DfT, is expected to be in the range of 30-50% of the total Fund value, with Private sector investment making up the remainder of the Fund. In order to manage the Fund, HS2 Ltd is seeking to appoint an independent Fund Manager, to undertake a variety of activities in conjunction with HS2 Ltd and the existing HS2 Innovation Accelerator Programme. As a pre-requisite, any prospective Fund Manager must be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to carry out the Services.
