CP2271-22 Triple Axe Phase 3

Tender description

This phase 3 proposal follows a successful phase 1 stage (that culminated in a Triple Axe Action Plan 2021-26) and a phase 2 stage (feasibility and testing) that was co-created by Axe partners (via the East Devon Catchment Partnership). The project will provide the resource (farm advice contractor time) to enable the project elements to be delivered. The project will adopt proven approaches applied through similar work in the south west of England and beyond. The next step in the process of developing the Triple-Axe approach is to test the effectiveness of the concept across farm clusters. Farm Transformation Plans are a new approach and are untested (across farm clusters), The testing phase, from October 2022 – February 2023, will carry out action research to test the concept and feasibility of the FTPs across two farm clusters of the River Axe. The main priority for FTPs are those farms signposted by the Environment Agency and the Catchment Sensitive Farming teams. A Farm Advice Co-ordinator will be contracted for the 5 month period. The Farm Advice Co-ordinator will coordinate the development of a Farm Transformation Plan (FTP) for each of the farms in the farm clusters, over the 5 months of the study.
