Contractor for Eglinton Year and Barn, new roof to barn and repair works to the walls and yard

Tender description

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council (M&EABC) require for the necessary demolition and repair works to the buildings and yard to ensure that health & safety issues related to the site are negated, as per recommendations made by the appointed Integrated Consultancy Team. This contract is for the provision of the following works: • Removal of the existing asbestos roof covering and blockwork structure to the Barn down to and including the existing ring beam. New ring beam to be constructed and new roof structure and covering installed. Allow for salvaged stone build up to front of new RC ring beam. • Careful demolition and removals to the Barn building including blockwork, sliding doors and track, RC lintel over doors, render, concrete ring beams and timber, • Re-pointing, crack stitching and general re-building and repairs to loose and defective stonework structure to the Barn, • Provision of PVC gutters and downpipes to the Barn building. Power and lighting to be provided to the Barn with power outlets to the Yard side, • Provision of decorative gravel, drainage works and 2 pairs of new steel sliding doors to the Barn and Yard. New steel gates constructed at the river inlet corner in existing opening, • Careful removal of external rendering system to the street elevation, minor demolitions and crack stitching to yard walls, generally, followed by installation of new lime harling render and concrete copings to the street elevation, • Careful demolition of accommodation block building while exposing and keeping the street elevation boundary wall
