Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) vessel in-service support

Tender description

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) manages the in-service support of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, Hydrographic and Patrol vessels via the Future In-Service Support (FISS) Contracts, including Contract number CSS/0145. The MOD intends to incorporate Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) vessel(s) into the CSS/0145 Contract to provide interim in-service support for a period of up to 24 months, enabling an immediate support solution for receiving future COTS vessels and allowing sufficient time for the long-term future support programme. The MOD will look to utilise the learning from experience and data from the interim in-service support solution whilst the vessel(s) are supported via the CSS/0145 Contract, to inform an enduring support solution which is expected to be subject to a future competitive procurement.The support activities undertaken via the Contract, and any future Contract, will include, but are not limited to, planning for and execution of global corrective maintenance; engineering support; planned preventative and corrective maintenance; operational defect rectification; obsolescence management; stores management; logistic support; risk management, post design services, and required upgrades to pre-determined availability requirements. By issuing this Prior Information Notice, the MOD is not committing to carry out any procurement in relation to the strategy stated in this PIN. The MOD reserves the right to alter the approach to this project prior to commencing any formal procurement. Any related future procurement activity is likely to be subject to DSPCR 2011.
