Tender description

Aim of Programme Engage individuals and communities not normally engaged with the Peace Process on issues of contested space. This programme will provide cross community contact opportunities to help build capacity within disengaged communities, leading to the creation of shared vision and removal of psychological barriers in local neighbourhoods. This programme will offer children and adults an opportunity to create and develop relationships and build self-esteem, some will be a means to revitalise a disenfranchised community and some will offer people a place to express themselves through a visual means. We will require a facilitator to be responsible for: • Design and delivery of a series of workshops to build capacity within the community and demonstrate how the Community can use shared spaces to develop relationships and reduce segregation (a minimum of 10 workshops is required). The workshops - o Shall use the medium of art/craft or other interactive means to demonstrate the use of shared spaces and reconciliation. o Must be developed for a range of age groups; the successful facilitator will scope out the local community to establish the exact needs to ensure Cross community participation. o Participants are to be recruited by the facilitator and shall be from Kilkeel and the surrounding area. o Will culminate with a Cross Community Event to showcase how relationships have developed through the workshops and how shared spaces within the Kilkeel area can be best utilised. • A further event, which will be a Cross Community Youth Event shall be arranged to enhance relationships between the younger members of the community and the statutory agencies including PSNI, Council, etc. It is anticipated that the youth shall be targeted by the facilitator through the existing youth and sports groups in the area. o The Youth Event will take the format of a fun event, for example It’s a knock Out was a very successful event organised in 2019 by the Council.
