Climate Emergency Exhibition - Barbican - Build

Tender description

The City invites Quotations for the provision of Climate Emergency Exhibition - Barbican; The design's imperative is to support the exhibition's aim to help visitors imagine a radical vision of the future prosperity of all species. It does so through showcasing the possible richness, abundance and sensuality of sustainable design, embracing the imperfect and unfinished and promoting values such as resourcefulness and regeneration. The Project will be delivered in 2 Stages. Stage 1 will comprise of the Design Phase and Stage 2 will comprise of the Build Phase. This is the Stage 1 Mini Competition which tests the contractor's project specific approach, understanding and engagement with the project and the financial response, indicative pricing and project specific pre-construction and construction management resources and costs (including design fees pre-construction and construction for design and build). The Stage 1 mini-competition will select a contractor to provide Pre-Construction Services on a fee basis to develop contractor's proposals during the Pre-Construction Period, culminating in a Fixed Price Lump Sum or Guaranteed Maximum Price. The successful contractor will be appointed for Pre-Construction Services initially. The submitted tender for Stage 1 will be the Proposed Target Construction Contract Sum. The intention is to transition from Stage 1 to Stage 2, with the awarded supplier from Stage 1 although, this is not guaranteed. The Project will be delivered in 2 Stages. Stage 1 will comprise of the Design Phase and Stage 2 will comprise of the Build Phase. Stage 2 - Exhibition build fabrication and delivery of exhibition structure along the design proposed by the exhibition designers Universal Design Studio, sampling, prototyping structural elements and advise on sustainable solutions for our touring build.
