Building Access Control system

Tender description

The current access control system is nearing end of life and requires upgrading/replacing with a new system that can accommodate the changing needs of the Centre and also be future proofed and easily expand for the upcoming extension. As a result, this tender consists of two distinct bodies of work. The first is to upgrade/replace the existing Onity access control system. This is a swipe card based system with magnetic door locks and 54 swipe card readers located at each access point in the 1400m2 two storied RDC with a PC controlled card programmer and control system. This work will be completed and invoiced by April 30th 2022. The second body of work will be the installation of access control points and magnetic locks or other proposed system to approx. an additional 25 points in the yet to be built extension and will take place circa 2022/23. These points must be compatible with those installed under the first body of work and must be able to be controlled and programmed using the same equipment. The system installed should have the capacity to facilitate the additional doors within the proposed extension, with no controller system expansion or reconfiguration required. The successful tenderer will be expected to spec out the cabling requirements to link the two areas.
