Blueways Project Animator for the West Cork Islands

Comhar na nOileán CTR wish to appoint an Animator for phase 1 of the development of a Blueway for the Islands of West Cork Islands and to identify a number of sites/clusters. The Islands are as follows; Bere Island, Sherkin Island, Long Island, Heir Island, Dursey Island, Oileán Chléire and connecting to the Blueway between Whiddy and Bantry as well as other port towns such as Schull, Baltimore and Castletownbere. This list is a guide only and will evolve according to local conditions as part of the work of the Steering Committee and the Animator. The Blueways Project aims to develop a series of routes/ marine related trails at a number of clustered locations as a precursor to the establishment by community and other groups of a much more extensive network of such trails. Detailed Specification of Requirements The successful tenderer will be required to carry out the following duties: • Develop Blueway pilot sites selection criteria • Assess and ‘write up’ selected trails for inclusion in the Blueways project • Secure approval of Blueway pilot sites by National Trails Office • Liaise with key Blueway project stakeholders • Promote and create awareness of the Blueways Pilot project • Prepare to develop a Blueways brand, and pilot site infrastructure plans with communities along the route • Develop a Blueways Pilot Project Report • Other Duties
