Prefabricated Warehouses - Logistics Strategic Projects

Southern Water is looking to transform their logistics capabilities to optimise the handling and distribution of equipment and materials to and from engineers. We intend to deploy new networks, operations and technology within warehousing, distribution and final mile services. The aim is to improve service performance, enhance materials control and visibility and ultimately reduce costs. As part of this strategy we are aiming to roll out new ‘store rooms’ to stock assets and critical spares in key locations across South East England that can be accessed by field technicians. Our current network design has indicated we need a building solution in 11 locations. We are seeking providers of prefabricated warehouses that can be used as permanent storage solutions located on Southern Water sites. The warehouses should, be cost-effective and offer shorter lead and assembly times compared to conventional buildings. We are looking for buildings with a long design life, that offer weather protection, racking, power and options for insulation and heating. The buildings should be able to be erected on concrete, tarmac or Type 1 sub-base materials. They should be less than 200 square metres in area and less than 5m in height, so that planning permission is not required. In addition, the solution provider will be able to manage, supply, install, test and commission the associated services including lighting, heating, racking et cetera.
