Consultancy for Historic Buildings Carbon Reduction and Climate Resilience Challenge

The City of London Corporation (CoLC) has prepared an ambitious Climate Action Strategy (CAS) which commits to four main objectives. These are: • Net-Zero by 2027 in the Corporation’s operations • Net-Zero by 2040 across the City Corporation’s full value chain • Net-Zero by 2040 in the Square Mile • Climate resilience in our buildings, public spaces and infrastructure Buildings are the largest contributor to direct greenhouse gas emission in the Square Mile. The City is home to more than 600 historic (listed) buildings, many of which are ‘hard-to-treat’ in terms of improving their energy and environmental performance. These buildings may also become more vulnerable to climate risks such as flooding and overheating as our climate changes As part of the Climate Action Strategy, the Corporation is delivering a Historic Building Carbon Reduction and Climate Resilience Challenge to provide valuable recognition of best-in-class action in preparing historic buildings for the climate challenges they face. The City of London Corporation is seeking technical support to deliver the programme.
