Dock Branch Park Neighbourhood - Task Agreement With London & Continental Railways Limited

LCR Ltd is a UK Government owned Property Company, reporting to a sole shareholder, the Department for Transport, whose remit is to support the delivery of homes, jobs and economic growth through facilitating development and regeneration at and around stations and other government assets. LCR’s approach is to establish long-term partnerships with local authorities, transport authorities, Government agencies and private developers. As such given the nature and remit of LCR it is considered to represent a good strategic fit for the Dock Branch Park project that involves, at its heart, the regeneration of a derelict railway corridor which is entirely in the ownership of Network Rail and adjacent land uses and neighbourhoods. The Dock Branch Park is considered to be the catalyst and context upon which the future development of the adjacent neighbourhood will be seen and be framed. The two projects are mutually supportive in terms of the Council’s efforts to transform this part of Birkenhead.
