Delivery of Flying Start Early Years Placements in the Non-Maintained Sector in Newport

From September 2022, the Flying Start programme will be expanded to reach up to 2,500 more children aged 0 to 4 by increasing the Flying Start target areas in every local authority in Wales.To meet this target, Newport City Council is expanding the Flying Start childcare provision in Newport with a particular emphasis on strengthening Welsh-medium provision. The Council are seeking to develop a preferred suppliers list of childcare providers in Newport. Whilst any provider is welcome to apply, areas of particular interest for 2022 – 2023 are as follows:Phase One - From November 2022- Caerleon- Shaftesbury= GaerPhase Two - From April 2023- Beechwood- Stow Hill- St Julian’s- LLiswerryIt should be noted that provision may be required in other areas of Newport during the contract period and providers will be notified.A supplier networking event about the expansion of Fly Start places and this requirement will be held at 10 am on Friday 30 September 2022.
