The Vale of Glamorgan Council (“the Council”) requires the construction of the Barry Docks Transport Interchange scheme (“the Works”).In brief the works are to include:The works will involve site clearance, a new drainage system, earthworks, pavement construction, small retaining wall and footway and paved areas, various lit and unlit signage, new street lighting of the car park and main roundabout, together with landscaped areas and various street furniture. There will also be some work in relation to the existing and proposed statutory Undertaker’s plant within the site area.Please note due to the volume of documents, there are two notices Part 1 and Part 2. Important note: Please ensure that you access both Part 1 and Part 2 notices for the Barry Interchange. The following tender documents are split between the two notices: the ITT and Vol 0 to 2 are listed on Part 1. Vol 3 to 6 are listed in Part 2.The contracted works must be available and accepted by the Council in accordance with the required timescales. Bidders should note that the LTF/CCR funding in place for the scheme delivery relates only to the financial year 2022-23. Completion of any works programmed beyond that timeframe in tender submissions will be one of the factors considered as part of the tender assessment. Bidders should, however, submit realistic draft programmes at tender stage supported by resourcing evidence.“The Vale of Glamorgan Council has declared a Climate and Nature emergency and is committed to working with suppliers that contribute to our journey towards Net Zero CarbonTenders may be submitted in Welsh and will be treated no less favourably than a tender submitted in English.(WA Ref:124806)Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:The Council actively promotes social inclusion and local investment and is interested to know what Community Benefits can be realised in association with this project.
