Supply of R&S Test Equipment - Voluntary Transparency Notice

Tender description

The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), part of the UK Ministry of Defence intends to place a Single Source Non-Qualifying Defence Contract valued at up to £400K (INC VAT) with Rohde & Schwarz UK Limited ("the Contractor") for the procurement and delivery of a limited quantity of Signal Generators, Amplifiers and Rack Mount Adapter Kits ("Units"). The Contractor, as the Original Equipment Manufacturer for the Units has access to the technical designs, tools, knowledge and know-how necessary to supply the Units. Dstl considers it technically impractical for a supplier other than the chosen supplier to achieve the required goals, as there are specific interoperability requirements that must be fulfilled to ensure the functioning of the armed forces or security forces. The Authority requires these specific Units as the waveforms that have been created and developed for subsequent use have been specifically developed for these Units. The use of other Units would render these critical waveforms obsolete. This notice is not a request for expressions of interest so please do not apply to be invited to tender. This notice advises that the Authority has decided to negotiate a contract with the named supplier on a single source basis, and is published for reasons of transparency. If you are interested in becoming a sub-contractor for this requirement, you should apply directly to the supplier named above.
