Tender description

West Dunbartonshire Council (the Council) wishes to appoint a provider to enter a contract for the Digitisation of Archives and Local Studies Materials. This provider will be a company with verifiable experience in supporting web-based genealogy research, including providing remote digital worldwide access to records. It is expected that access to name rich content will be managed through registered user names and logons. This will have a particular value to those studying family and local history who are not in a position to visit the archives in person and to meet with rising expectations of finding such information online. The provider will be required to digitise materials on site at Council premises, as well as create indexes for the entries and host it for online access.
