Pre-Market Engagement - for the delivery of inner city kerbside recycling service for Belfast City Council

The purpose of this Prior Information Notice is to request expressions of interest from the market in participating in a pre market engagement exercise for the provision of a inner city kerbside recycling service The pre-market engagement exercise will take the form of an initial questionnaire and will help the Council better understand the levels of competition, capability and capacity within the market to supply and deliver an inner city kerbside recycling service for Belfast City Council. There may also be a requirement to hold informal engagement sessions with some or all interested parties. Lot 1: The current situation is as follows; Belfast's inner-city consists of approximately 58,000 households (estimate 48,000 low-rise; 10,000 apartments) Households are provided with two recycling boxes (55 litres) or a wheelie-box (c.3,000 properties) for dry-recyclables (households have the option as to what material to allocate to which box – paper & cardboard, plastics & tins, or glass) collected weekly by the contractor and a food waste “caddy” collected weekly by the contractor. Additional information: The Council wishes to deliver a high-quality service to all households within the scheme, including through the use of Information Technology and through collaboration with the Council to develop a shared culture of excellence in service standards
