Tender description
Maynooth University wishes to establish the marketplace for the suppliers which are suitably qualified to provide a grid synchronised electrical power generation system to be installed at Maynooth University (“the Capacity Provider”) for the purposes of providing an emergency standby power supply and for the purpose of participation in the Electricity Markets. The Supplier will own, operate and maintain an electricity Generating System, on the Capacity Provider’s premises and provide 24/7 monitoring and remote-control activities; and will use all reasonable endeavours to make the equipment available for the provision of emergency standby power on the Capacity Provider premises on a 24/7 basis. The Supplier will be responsible for the provision and cost of all generator fuel. Fuel consumed during out of market operation of the generator (an example of such operation would be during a failure of the mains) will be subject to a fair usage policy. The Generating System and electricity demand will be operated exclusively and at any time for the purposes of participation in the electricity markets by the Supplier. The generating system and related ancillary equipment will comprise the generation set(s); canopy/container(s); fuel tank(s) and contents with its interconnecting pipes and fittings; interconnecting power, control communications and earthing, switchgear, protection and control panels; metering and communications equipment for interface with Supplier control system and used or intended for use in connection with the Suppliers business and all equipment as necessary for the complete design and operation by the Supplier.
