Tender description

A hybrid manual/CNC gap bed lathe is required for the manufacture of one off, bespoke parts for research involving large electrical machines, including wind turbine generators, energy storage flywheels, and railway traction motors, in materials ranging from plastics through non-ferrous to exotic steel alloys. The machine must be easy to use by our team of experienced and skilled manual machinists, both for manual and CNC use, and provide for confidence building and CPD of staff progressively toward full CNC expertise.
