Longford County Council Bridge Remediation 2022 Contract 1

Tender description

The Longford County Council Bridge Remediation 2022, Contract 1 consists of renewal works to 4 no Masonry Bridges. The nature of the works includes but is not limited to the following; reconstruction of masonry elements, repointing of masonry elements, replacement of soft verges with concrete rubbing strips with integrated stainless steel drainage, removal of vegetation including trees from masonry elements, removal of debris from the riverbed, apply scour protection to abutments, cleaning and painting of exposed steel surfaces on bridge deck, road resurfacing, traffic management. The bridges included in the contract are (1) - Tady's (Lisdreenagh) Bridge, (2) - Ballyduffy Bridge, (3) - Cartron Big Bridge and (4) - Ranaghanbaun Bridge. Bridges 1 to 3 are single span masonry arch structures over streams. Bridge 4 is a single span railway jack arch bridge with steel beams holding brick arches in place, masonry abutments and walls. this bridge carries a local road over a disused railway line.
