Food waste disposal system for new hospital - Request for information

The Contractor for the new Monklands Hospital (under separate procurement) will be required to provide and install a system which can dispose of all food waste generated on the site. In order for NHS Lanarkshire to provide a specification to the contractor for the Food Waste System, NHS Lanarkshire would like to have dialogue with the market to understand what is available. Lot 1: The Contractor for the new Monklands Hospital (under separate procurement) will be required to provide and install on site a food waste disposal system as part of the project. The food waste disposal system will be used to dispose of all food waste generated from patient and non-patient catering across the site and will be required to meet the latest guidance on the disposing of food waste. In order for NHS Lanarkshire to provide a specification to the contractor for the food waste disposal system, NHS Lanarkshire would like to have dialogue with the market to understand what is available. In particular, the following would like to be understood: * The ability to process food waste within a building situated in an outside environment that will be purpose designed to suit relevant disposal and legislative specification. * Current and future market end to end solutions in line with the above to process and remove food waste from site. Additional information: NHS Lanarkshire will not be procuring these items or the service. The purpose of this PIN is to invite dialogue with providers of food waste systems in order to understand what is available in the market. Although a date for the publication of a contract notice is required for this PIN, the date reflects the possible date of the contractor’s need to approach the market for this procurement.
