Tender description
From October 2023, the Government will introduce a new £86,000 cap on the amount anyone in England will need to spend on their personal care over their lifetime. Along with the Care Cap other reforms including changes to the means test thresholds will come into effect. Somerset County Council has recognised that there are opportunities for digital technology to supplement and enhance the process for conducting both Care Act Assessments and Financial Assessments for care, particularly given the anticipated increase in demand for assessments due to the Charging Reforms. In advance of the implementation of the Charging Reforms Somerset County Council is exploring options for online assessment options for Care Act Assessments and Financial Assessments.
