Provision of Insourcing Ultrasound Radiology Services

Hywel Dda Health Board has awarded a contract for Provision of Insourcing Ultrasound Radiology Services. The COVID pandemic has led to an increased patient backlog which needs to be addressed via internal and external activity plans. The Radiology Department has a number of unfilled Sonographer vacancies which are seen mostly within the Radiology Department at Withybush General Hospital. Due to the challenges faced at Withybush Hospital, Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking to insource a staffing solution for the majority of this activity.The requirement for the insourcing service at Withybush General Hospital will include a range of inpatient and outpatient ultrasound examinations to include adult, paediatric and obstetric scanning provision. The Crown Commercial Service Insourced Services to Support the Provision of Healthcare (including Clinical Insourcing) Framework Agreement (Reference: RM6276) is compliant with UK/EU procurement legislation. This framework included several potential providers who had achieved inclusion on the framework following a qualification process.
