United Utilities Water Limited (UUW) operates a fleet of biogas fuelled Combined Heat & Power (CHP) engines which are located at their sludge digestion sites. Developing our future strategy we are undertaking pre-market research to understand market offerings for the following services. 1) Design and build (DB) of CHP installations 2) Design, build and finance (DBF) installations, with O&M by UUW 3) Design, build, finance, operate and maintain (DBFOM) For option 3 we are interested in understanding how this model can be delivered, e.g. would this be through the sale of the biogas from UUW to the provider, and/or sale of electricity and heat back to UUW. Responses detailing variations of the above services are welcome. Lot 1: To provide background on our CHP fleet, we currently have circa 29MWe of capacity installed across 14 sites. Our replacement programme includes two sites in the next 12 months with a series of other sites to follow over the next 4 years. The sites requiring replacement in the next 12 months are located at Bolton and Bury. Any information provided / requested is for information purposes only and to assess the current market position.
