Summary of the work ServiceNow architect, must have experience in defining, supporting the transition to ServiceNow's Common Service Data Model (CSDM). Required to transition from a current established CMDB to CSDM. Experience in ServiceNow data models, mapping and migration design specifically surrounding the ServiceNow CSDM and CMDB including interdependencies with other tools and processes. Specialist role Technical Architect Expected Contract Length 10 weeks Latest start date Monday 19 September 2022 Maximum Day Rate Up to £700 ex VAT per day. Standard 8 hour working day, includes expenses to base location agreed with DWP . Where travel to non base sites is required, expenses will be paid in line with DWP Expense Policy. This role is Inside IR35 Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will report into the Service Catalog team. They will work with the ServiceNow Platform team and wider process stakeholders across DWP Digital staff and will collaborate with team leads for Design, Development, Business Analysis, Testing, Delivery and Operations. What Specialists Work On DWP have an established/mature CMDB in legacy tables with numerous customisations. This role will work alongside DWP Service Portfolio (Service Catalog) team and wider DWP organisation to move this data and relationships to the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) by: 1) define CSDM Walk model, 2) deliver model in non-production environment, 3) create migration plan for each Service CI/attributes 4) create technical specifications identifying each form/report/script/dashboard 5) deliver specifications for each technical specifications, 6) Create plan for migration/implementation, 7) create stories for data migration/relevant CSDM requirements 8) Inform development work to prepare for implementation 9) Recommend future DWP resource requirements. Skills & Experience • Experience in establishing and delivering transtion to a ServiceNow CMDB • Experience in modelling, mapping and planning the transition of data into a ServiceNow CMDB • Experience in helping organisations to transition to ServiceNow's Common Service Data Model • Ability to understand business needs and priorities and apply them to project planning • Significant experience in implementing ServiceNow in an large scale organisation • Experience in defining and delivering the design for integrating ServiceNow • Excellent communication skills, translating technical detail so that is understood by all • Strategic overview of standards and technology, with the capacity of turning business problems into technical design. • Ensure technical quality and adherence to ServiceNow CSDM Framework, and provide solutions to work with current organisations processes • Define requirements that have been ranked as complex at the outset helping to establish High Level Designs or Technical Specifications • Engaging presentation style, with the ability to control and manage multiple presentation scenarios, presenting to technical governance forums including design & security assurance groups and senior stakeholder groups • Ability to work under pressure • Examples of delivering transition, knowledge transfer and handover of code. • An appreciation for the importance of technical documentation as a means of ensuring ongoing maintainability of systems. Nice to Haves • Experience in maintaining the security posture during design or support security risk assessments for changes to a technology platform / solution. • Technical architecture abilities beyond the ServiceNow platform demonstrating experience in other application and infrastructure domains. • Have collaborative and flexible working approach, e.g. working with in-house technical and other digital specialists • Approach to supporting teams to adopt new technologies • Ensure product dependencies and integrated technologies are aligned • Demonstrable commitment to a diverse working environment, with a team comprised of experts from a wide variety of backgrounds. • Demonstrate advanced toolset product knowledge across at least 3 of the product families utilised by DWP (ITSM, ITBM, FSM, SecOps SIR, GRC IRM, HR Onboarding) • Demonstrate that they can gain a sound understanding of an organisation’s business drivers and how to translate those into solutions on the ServiceNow platform to achieve business outcomes Work Location DWP Digital Hub sites : 2 St Peters Square, Manchester, Peel Park, Blackpool Working Arrangments Specialist will work 5 working days per week. The specialist will be mandated to attend site 40% of their working time in line with DWP's Hybrid working policy working remotely for the remainder of their time. Days of attendance on site will be as determined by DWP management.
