Works to existing watermain networks at Willow Bank, Blackrock, Cork and Castle Meadows, Blackrock, Cork, to bring water networks to Taking in Charge standard

Tender description

Cork City Council require works to be carried out to the water distribution networks at Willow Bank, Church Road, Blackrock, Cork City and at Castle Meadows, Skehard Road, Mahon, Cork City. The works are required in order to bring the water networks to a standard to be Taken in Charge by Irish Water. A full prescriptive list of all required works is included in the tender documents. At Castle Meadows, Mahon, Cork City, works comprise of Marker post and plates works, sluice valve installation, works to an existing fire hydrant, installation of 7 no. boundary boxes, and laying of a new watermain from the Skehard Road through to the site as shown on enclosed drawing CM 0001. An enclosed sketch, CM-SK1, shows the locations of new sluice valves required at the site. The full list of works required at Castle Meadows is detailed in Appendix A of this document. At Willow Bank, Blackrock, Cork City, works include marker posts and plates, works to existing fire hydrants, the construction of 2 no. new fire hydrants, replacement of sluice valve covers, leak repair and permanent reinstatement works, installation of 6 no. boundary boxes, and tracing of an existing supply to a dwelling. The full list of works required at Willow Bank is detailed in Appendix B of the Works Requirements. The Employer reserves the right to award contractors certain elements of the works outlined only, dependant on the budget allocation available
