Tender description

USW is looking for a 3D metal printer for use as part of an optoelectronics research group.We want to be able to produce bespoke optical mounts and electronic heat sinks for use in prototypes and experiments produced by the group. Metal 3D printing in these applications is a disruptive technology which could lead to many interesting research opportunities in addition to supporting currently ongoing research.The 3D metal printer would be used as part of the Centre for Photonics Expertise project.This project aims to introduce businesses throughout Wales to advanced photonics technologies, and so any metal printer acquired by us would be brought to the attention of our many business collaborators in the manufacturing sector.
