Replacement of Clairin Footbridge, Carrick on Suir.

Tender description

Tipperary County Council seeks to appoint a consultant with experience in designing a major impact bridge over Iarnrod Éireann infrastructure. The project involves the replacement of an existing pedestrian bridge over the Clonmel to Carrick on Suir rail line, OBL149A. There is an existing footbridge located at the site which is on the north western outskirts of Carrick-on-Suir, immediately north of LIDL. The objective of the works should be to : • Prepare the preliminary design based on a detailed topographical survey, based on Irish rail guidance and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) publication DN-STR-0300 . • Prepare a financial appraisal for the project to demonstrate value for money based on future maintenance costs on the existing structure; • Obtain Irish Rail and NTA approval take the preliminary design to Planning; • Develop Part 8 drawings and report, present the proposal at a council meeting, • Develop Final Part 8 Report and incorporate any amendments into the design; • Obtain Irish Rail and NTA approval to proceed to Detailed design and tender for the works; • Develop detailed design and tender documents • Procure a works contractor, services to include tender assessment report; • Oversee works and certify works on completion.
