Tender description

Meath County Council aim to set up Framework of demolition works contractors to demolish dwellings in exercise of its powers under the Planning & Development Acts 2000 as amended. It is anticipated that the works will consist of demolition of buildings and or structures, site clearance, removal of asbestos where present, fencing and / or temporary works. Also included are minor building and landscaping works associated with the return of the lands to its previous condition. Asbestos surveys and removal may also form part of the works. Applicants shall be in a position to provide these services as main contractor. Applicants on the Framework shall be capable of the following: • Performing the duties of the PSCS and Contractor as required by Safety Health and Welfare at work (Construction) regulations, 2013 S.I. No. 291 of 2013. • Have previously carried out works of a similar nature. • Complying with the requirements of the Waste Management Act 1996 • Complying with the Waste Management (Collection Permit Regulations, 2007 (S.I. No. 820 of 2007) • Complying with the Waste Management (Movement of Hazardous Waste) Regulations 1998 (S.I. No. 147 / 1998) The Framework Agreement will apply to individual projects with anticipated values ranging up to €2,000,000. The majority of projects are envisaged to be less than €1,000,000 in value. Applications are only invited from contractors who have a proven track record in demolition and ancillary works as described above. Applications are not invited from general building contractors who propose to sub-contract the whole of the works. It is envisaged that all demolition works will be carried out under PW-CF5 - Minor Building & Civil Engineering works designed by the Employer. However, Meath County Council reserves the right to use other forms of contracts (CWMF) should it deem it appropriate. The maximum estimated value of the works over the lifetime of the framework (36 months) will be €5,000,000 (ex VAT).
