<p>Luton Council, in partnership with Luton BID and The Mall, Luton are excited to see the return of Lighting up Luton which will round off our festive celebrations. Set in St. George’s Square, this family friendly event will provide a fun and festive event for all to enjoy.</p> <p>We are seeking organisations to lead on all event planning and execution to make this a day to remember. There is a key focus on the execution of the switching on of the lights and quality is absolutely key. In line with the switch on, the successful candidate will work alongside local organisations to provide entertainment, crafts and other activities to engage audiences and make the event a full day spectacular.</p> <p>As the lighting display will be a prominent part of our festive season fixtures the quality of the lighting is vital. Applicants will therefore need to demonstrate how the lighting they provide will enhance resident’s sense of pride in their town centre.&nbsp;</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have experience in meticulous organisation and will be able to provide examples of high artistic quality. Experience in the following is essential:</p> <ul> <li>An understanding of public sector procurement timelines</li> <li>Planning, organising and executing Christmas light switch ons</li> <li>Organisation of road closures, licenses and reporting to all authorities</li> <li>Time management in line with key event deadlines</li> <li>Relationship management</li> <li>A creative eye for detail</li> <li>Project management and cohesive reporting</li> </ul> <p>Please note that all third party contractors are required to pay their staff in line with the national living wage.</p> Keywords: event
