Tender description

EDR 22-006 - FRAMEWORK FOR THE SUPPLY, DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION OF OUTDOOR EDUCATIONAL PLAY EQUIPMENT. The Education Authority (EA) invites tenders for the supply, delivery and installation of Outdoor Educational Play Equipment to individual schools and EA locations within Northern Ireland for a period of 2 years with the option to extend for any additional period(s) of up to and including 24 months. This Framework Agreement will contain 5 lots as follows: Lot 1 - Fixed Outdoor Playground Equipment Lot 1 is for the design, supply, delivery and installation of a range of fixed playground equipment. Playground products are likely to be of a timber, metal or plastic construction. The products which are within scope of this lot include (but are not limited to): -Climbing Frames and walls (Wooden / Metal / Plastic) -Treetop Towers -Balancing Trails -Trampolines -Swing Sets -Slides / Cable Rides -See-Saws and Rockers -Spring-Based Play Equipment -Roundabouts -Inclusive Play Equipment -Toddler Playground Equipment It is mandatory for Tenderers to provide the following goods/ services within Lot 1: It is a mandatory requirement for Tenderers to demonstrate the capability to design, supply, deliver and install a range or fixed outdoor playground equipment which conforms to BS EN 1176 (the recognised safety standard for playground equipment). It is a mandatory requirement for Tenderers to demonstrate the capability to design, supply, deliver and install safety surfacing (such as Wet pour surfacing) which conforms to BS EN 1177 (the recognised safety standard for playground surfacing). It is a mandatory requirement for Tenderers to demonstrate the capability to carry out the necessary ground preparation prior to installations. Lot 2 - Outdoor Fitness Equipment Lot 2 is for the design, supply, delivery and installation outdoor fitness equipment which is suitable for use by children will include (but is not limited to) fixed outdoor fitness stations of the following type; cross trainers, lat-pulldowns, ab benches, dips / leg raises, hand bikes, leg presses, pull-up stations and recumbent bikes. It is mandatory for Tenderers to provide the following goods/ services within Lot 2: It is a mandatory requirement for Tenderers to demonstrate the capability to design, supply, deliver and install a range or fixed outdoor fitness equipment which conforms to BS EN 1176 (where applicable). It is a mandatory requirement for Tenderers to demonstrate the capability to design, supply, deliver and install safety surfacing (such as wet pour surfacing) which conforms to BS EN 1177. It is a mandatory requirement for Tenderers to demonstrate the capability to carry out the necessary ground preparation prior to installations. Lot 3 – Bespoke Outdoor Educational Structures Lot 3 is for the design, supply, delivery, assembly and installation of a range of fixed outdoor structures. This lot provides for bespoke “open to the elements” structures such as timber made gazebos, canopies, outdoor learning environments. The structures are likely to be “open to the elements” without windows, doors or utilities. Lot 4 - Polytunnels, Timber Sheds and Furniture, Greenhouses, Storage Containers and Cycle Shelters Lot 4 is for the supply, delivery, assembly and installation of polytunnels, sheds and greenhouses, storage containers and cycle shelters. Lot 4 is split into 5 sections (as follows) and Tenderers may apply for one for more product lines within one or more sections: -Lot 4 – Section 1 - Polytunnels and Accessories -Lot 4 – Section 2 - Timber Sheds and Furniture -Lot 4 – Section 3 - Green Houses and Accessories -Lot 4 – Section 4 - Storage Containers -Lot 4 – Section 5 - Cycle Shelters Lot 5 - Provision for Inspections of Outdoor Equipment Lot 5 is for the provision of post-installation inspections, annual inspections and ad-hoc inspection of outdoor equipment. This may include inspections of existing equipment which was installed prior to commencement of this Framework Agreement. This lot is for the provision of Inspection Services which includes provision of a report(s) detailing the condition of installed equipment and surfacing with particular reference to overall conformance to BS EN 1176 and BS EN 1177. Inspections must highlight any risks or issues to ensure that any issues / snagging are identified.
